Welcome to the West Virginia State Board of Landscape Architects
The West Virginia State Board of Landscape Architects was created on July 1, 1971 by the West Virginia Legislature for the purpose of protecting the health, safety interest and welfare of its citizens by regulating those who hold themselves out to be and who engage in the practice of landscape architecture.
What is Landscape Architecture?
Landscape Architecture as defined by the American Society of Landscape Architects is "The art and science of analysis, planning, design, management, preservation, and rehabilitation of the land." The scope of the profession includes but is not limited to site planning, garden design, environmental restoration, town or urban planning, park and recreation master planning, regional planning, and historic preservation.
